Tax Holiday
Sunquest Vacations has extended their no-tax offer on winter vacations. The operator is taking off the tax on all winter trips for travel between November 1 and April 30 of next year. That means savings of up to $230 per person for everyone in your party, including kids. Plus, Sunquest is sweetening the deal by throwing in an upgrade to its Silver Service offered on all Thomas Cook Canada flights operated by Jazz Air. That’s another $49 savings, and it gives you perks including advance seat selection, priority check-in, baggage handling, boarding and meal selection, two free alcoholic drinks and complimentary air pillow, blanket and headset. You’ll even get up to 5kg in additional baggage allowance. The deal is offered from all Sunquest gateways across Canada, but you have to book by September 7 to qualify.
Book Today! For Fall Colours
MSC Cruises has some very nice pricing on Canada/New England fall foliage cruises aboard MSC Poesia. The ship travels from New York City along the New England coast and stops in Canadian ports as well, including P.E.I., Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Quebec. The series of cruises begins in late September and concludes with a repositioning cruise to Fort Lauderdale in late October. If you book by Friday, September 3rd, balcony cabins are available from as low as $649 per person – and a balcony is a wonderful thing on a fall colours cruise. Cruise durations run from seven to 13 nights.
The ‘Rail’ Scotland
The scenic beauty Scotland is so astounding that it’s a shame to miss it at the wheel of a car. Not to mention that when you get up into the Highlands many of the roads are narrow and crowded with sheep – and if you hit one you’re expected to pay the farmer. For these reasons and more, a Scottish rail journey is a terrific alternative. It’s also a cost-effective one this fall, thanks to a special offer from BritRail. The Freedom of Scotland Travel Pass lets you explore Scottish highlights including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Stirling, the Highlands and beyond. And if you purchase your pass before September 30th you’ll get an extra day of travel free. There are two choices of durations of the pass: one gives you four days of rail travel within eight days, the other eight days of travel within 15 days.
